About Josh

Josh was born in Ardmore, Oklahoma on January 14, 1975. He is the oldest son of Bill Cantrell and Peggy Allison. Josh and his family are lifelong residents of Kingston, Oklahoma where he graduated High School in 1993. He then attended Murray State College from 1993 until he graduated with and Associates Degree in 1995. Josh continued his education at East Central University where he graduated with a Bachelor's degree in the spring of 1997.   In 2008 Josh married Tanya, the daughter of Richard and Linda Taylor. The couple made Kingston their home where they later welcomed two sons, Jarron and Marshall. Josh has 2 siblings named Adam Cantrell and Sarah Burnett.

Josh worked in the quickly growing construction industry starting in 1999, until he became commissioner in 2017.  He was senior project manager for several construction firms in north Texas ranging from municipal infrastructure construction to retail. He worked on projects in all 50 states, Mexico, Canada, Puerto Rico, and several of the US Virgin Isles.

The Cantrell family still call Kingston home where they are active members of their community. With both boys being involved in agriculture they are avid supporters of 4-H and Jr. Livestock Association. Josh’s strong dedication to his community is reflected in the projects he has participated. Josh and Tanya are owner/operator of Kingston Sign and Design in Kingston, OK

Josh a member of the Republican party and serves as Commissioner of District 2 as well as serving as County Commissioner Chairman. Josh currently sits on the board for ACCO Legislative Committee. He is a member of the CAB Board, and CED 3 Board. In 2016 Josh ran for election as District 2 County Commissioner of Marshall County, Oklahoma.
